More work on the WW1 table

Greetings everyone,
Just a few shots of the only elevated part of the table, everything really needs to be flat. I wanted a few buildings in the city of Paris, so I did sort of a comical set of buildings in front on the Eiffel Tower.

World War 1 hand painted gaming mat

Greetings everyone,
I recently discovered Wings of Glory, a forum dedicated to airplanes of both wars in 1:144 scale.
Instead of buying gaming mats, I painted my own. I dont have any planes yet, but they are on their way. This isnt quite done, but here are a few shots.

A 1st World War French flight stand

Greetings everyone,
The next period for me will be World War One,  particularly Wings of War biplanes and such. If I can find the room Ill sent up a table or two and purchase one of those aerial gaming mats, but finding the room for this will be tough. Anyways heres my attempt at a biplane flight stand, which I'm putting into a competition on another forum in the next few days and we will see what happens. Here are a few shots.

British Queen makes an appearance

Greetings everyone,
I knew if I mentioned anything British it would attract attention. This British Queen happens to be Havana Cigars. Popular in the U.S. in the 1870s, so much so that they made their way to outdoor advertising in the form of hand painted murals on the sides of buildings.  I did part of this wall a while back, now I just added the rest of the house. Its not hand painted but made to look like it was
with individual wooden slats painted. The artwork for the British Queen was computer generated, and slowly worked its way into the wooden slats (cardboard). The paper was run under water first to get that faded look. It was then glued to a piece of cardboard, mounted on the wall and then sliced into individual slats. The yellow paint was blended into the yellow paint that was on the image. The paper was then sanded for that worn out look (yes you can sand paper). Parts of the paint was peeled off to simulate raw wood. It take a while and a bit of work to make this look convincing. Here are some shots...

Saturday afternoon in the ghetto

Greetings everyone,
My daughter is home from Florida for the summer. Being the gearhead that she is, we went taking photos of  our cars and some amazing graffiti in some of the baddest parts of the city. Some of the artists that did this work are some of the best in the states. Here are a few shots,
